The house’s owner, Serena Dugan, is a veteran in the home decor industry, founding Serena & Lily in 2004 and most recently Serena Dugan Studio — her line of fabrics and wallpapers sold through interior design showrooms nationally and internationally.  As both an artist and designer, she splits her time between textiles and paintings, which sell through galleries on the West Coast.  

She conceived this house to be a showplace for what she creates.  As such, all fabrics and wallpapers used in the house are either part of her Serena Dugan Studio collection, or vintage or indigenous textiles from her private collection — all special but unprecious and meant to be lived with.  All artwork is either hers, part of her private collection, or is the work of artist friends.  Her artwork as well as her friends’ artwork is for sale, and the rotating collection is detailed on the Art tab above.

The Barn on the Northwest corner of the property is her art barn.  It is where all of her artwork in the house was painted and where, she believes, her best work will continue to be made.
